Environmental Impact

The electricity we consume is produced mainly from nuclear plants, coal-fired plants, oil and gas combustion plants, and hydro plants. In Ontario alone, the generation of electricity produces 43 MTCO2 of emissions every year, which is the equivalent of 5.4 million cars.

Fortunately, the wind and solar industries are experiencing exponential growth. These sources of energy are completely renewable, and the only emissions are those from the production, installation, and maintenance of the equipment.

Until recently, the majority of solar systems have been installed in fields outside urban areas, often on agricultural land or fields where forests could grow. Yet roof tops and parking lots, which today cause heat pockets in urban and sub-urban areas and compound the problem of global warming, provide excellent opportunities for the production of solar electricity. With its expertise and capabilities, SolPowered is uniquely positioned to address this opportunity.
